Moliere and beyond!
Well, there seems to be no rest in sight these days. The TMT folks are going full speed ahead with planning for the upcoming Moliere Celebration. Derek and I are going to Montreal next weekend (april 10-11) for some rehearsals and design meetings with Marie-Nathalie and her gang there. I'm so happy that her "corps de ballets" - Mickael Bouffard, Marie-Laurence Primeau and Nina Richmond-Goring - will be coming back to perform with us in the Moliere. They were terrific in both King Arthur and The Indian Queen and are such fun to work with. It is so exciting as a musician to work with dancers who understand music's intricacies. I've learned alot working with dancers and some of the most revelatory moments have come in recognizing the "ornamentation" involved in the small gestures of the hand and feet and how this ornamentation is directly related to the ornamentation found in the music. It's always a treat to explore that aspect of things with Marie-Nathalie and her colleagues. We'll also be meeting with Caroline Guilbault, who gave us such beautiful designs for Venus and Adonis, Dido, Soldier's Tale, King Arthur and other shows. Caroline is on board for this show as well and we're looking forward to working together.
The other thing occupying us is planning for next season and I'm happy to say that we have the details almost all ironed out and will be in a position to announce our 2010-2011 season sometime in May, before the Moliere show.
I'll update with more information very soon! In the meantime, please make sure to get your tickets!!
